The story goes that my great grandma was dating a Catholic boy in the early 1930s, but Ash Wednesday came along, and he gave HER up for Lent. Well, while she was experiencing her 40 days of singleness, another boy decided that he didn’t care about Lent, and asked her out. That opportunist was my Great Granddad. They had three boys, who all got married and had big families, and now there are 75+ of us in my extended family on my mom’s side.
A space I don’t share often... but not for long! This kitchen is getting a facelift! We’re replacing the cabinet doors because we decided to add more drawers… it’s kind of a “if you give a mouse a cookie” situation. In stories today I’m talking about what we’re changing and why, and also some down the road changes we’ll make, and some we’ve already made. In a couple weeks this view will start to change! I’m hoping that sooner rather than later we’ll be able to go ahead and replace the counters and add a backsplash. And change out the pendants over the island, add a sconce over the sink, get new barstools… see, if you give a mouse a cookie… she’ll want a whole new kitchen in which to bake more cookies.
