Teaching Old Houses New Tricks

Renovations & Real Estate

The Bonnie house was a time capsule when we closed on her in January 2021. 1969-installed pea green shag carpet, all original unpainted wood trim, original 1930s tile, lighting, and plumbing fixtures let us know that the house had been well cared for but was ready for a refresh. It wasn’t all good though--crumbling plaster, questionable wiring, and a disturbing carving into the attic stairs that read “BEWARE OF SQUIRREL” meant we had our work cut out for us. When she’s complete, she’ll be 2700 square feet, 4 bed, 3 bath home with some amazing indoor/outdoor entertaining spaces.
