This title is a little misleading, because I’ve already shared the details of all of our hardware from Signature Hardware in this blog, which included the bathroom fixtures. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t dedicate an entire blog post to my favorite room in the carriage house, the bathroom. Our main house was built […]
When it came to the beds in the carriage house, I wanted to make sure our guests had the best experience possible. The bedrooms are on the smaller side, and have sloped ceilings due to the dormers, so space was limited. Our Airbnb manager told us that they have more frequent bookings for properties with at least one king sized bed, so we decided to put a king bed in one room and a queen bed with a sitting area in the other. Let’s start today with the queen bedroom.
One of my favorite details in the carriage house is the hardware and plumbing fixtures. I knew I wanted them to be vintage-inspired and feel high quality. All of the plumbing fixtures, the exterior lights, and the door hardware was kindly gifted to us by Signature Hardware, which is my favorite place to find these vintage-inspired details.
Let’s take a tour. As you enter from the alley (don’t miss the squirrel door knocker), you’ll climb the stairs to the second floor, where you’ll enter the main living/dining/kitchen area. I knew I wanted this space to feel intentional and cozy, somewhere people will feel relaxed and at home after they’ve been out sight-seeing in Nashville. One of my favorite details here is the vintage rug. The rugs in the living room and both bedrooms are all vintage, and I love that they’re all one of a kind and help this new build to feel like it has an old soul.
